In order to prevent inflated credit ratings and an economic crisis similar to that in 2008, the government should eliminate rating-contingent regulation, according to Assistant Professor Marcus Opp, Haas Finance Group. “If the government didn’t have these rating-contingent regulations, I believe the ratings would automatically become more informative,” says Opp. Read the article.
